About Me

Asking a writer to pen a bio is the equivalent of asking a comedian to tell a joke. “But I thought you said you were funny?” *gulp* My Instagram one probably sums me up the best; ‘Writer of words. Taker of pictures. I once got Wordle in one.’ It’s true. It was ‘hinge’.

Anyway, hello. My name is Catherine and I’ve been doing this writing thing for almost 20 years, as a journalist, marketing specialist and since 2017, an advertising creative.

I’ve ghostwritten for global popstars and CEOs, raved about far-off places and interviewed far-out people. I’ve been a city guide, an astrologer, a gay man, a film reviewer, a hotelier, a white paper-er. I've created advertising campaigns for global brands in retail, cosmetics, aviation, healthcare and loads more. And then I paused to have a baby during a pandemic. I know, right?

Back in the saddle since 2021, I continue to bring ideas to life with words - even occasionally ones I don’t like using together, like ‘bring ideas to life’ - because a good copywriter can read a room, untangle a brief and engage an audience.

Sometimes even at the same time.

Things I love <3

BBC 6 Music. Mountains. Magazines (The Face, Vanity Fair, Wallpaper, and basically all those sexy chunky ones that just sit on your coffee table). The V&A. Diary writing. Brutalist architecture. Scandinavian design. Shoes, shoes and more shoes. Top-deck-front-seat bus journeys. And bricks. I love bricks.
